The New York State High School Football Coaches Association, founded in 1994, is an organization in New York State dedicated to maintaining the high status of the football coaching profession. Its membership consists of high school coaches from across the State, the collegiate ranks, Athletic Directors, as well as Associate (non-coaches), and Retired coaches.

We are excited to announce a new section of NYSHSFCA.com. The Upstate/Downstate Football Classic!

The goal of the New York State High School Football Classic, as established by the New York State High School Football Coaches Association, is to promote and showcase the outstanding football talent in the state of New York. The New York State High School Football Classic will serve to unite the 650 high school football programs throughout the State, and over 20,000 football coaches (head coaches and assistants), as well as the 80,000 student athletes in New York State that compete in scholastic football.

Train your neck!

HOW on earth can you consider yourself a serious football player and NOT train your neck? Despite the fact that you are taught to lay a bone crushing hit with a shoulder pad, football is a violent instinctive game, and sometimes there is helmet to helmet contact. Having a strong neck is extremely important to prevent spinal injuries that may occur during such collisions. When going into a big hit, do you want a neck like Gumby or a neck like a tree trunk?
